This article is for comments and conversations regarding the article Biblical Church Planting. The main idea is that Jesus kept it simple -- He told his followers to declare the kingdom of God and then work with those that received their message. He went on to say that if people did not receive their message, they should shake the dust off their feet and move on to someone who would. Somehow in modern day church planting we have piled on more expectations, We endeavor to win a city for Christ and make every single person believe as we do. We feel like losers if we fail to persuade everyone to live by the same moral code and values that we do. It's time to get back to simply sharing the Gospel, working with those who respond, and trusting God for the increase. Share your thoughts and ideas on this subject below.

The paragraph quoted below gave me goosebumps. It is so spot on. The results in evangelism are up to the Holy Spirit. It's not about the number of converts. Our responsibility is to share the Good News and love others and treat them as we wish to be treated. And we are NOT called to impose a moral code on others. Laws will create superficial changes in behavior; trusting in and following Christ will change hearts and actions.

Right on, Steve! And write on as well! We appreciate the feedback. What do others out there think? Should we measure our evangelistic efforts on the number of converts or on obedience to what the Lord calls us to do? Should we try to legislate morality? Should we force our moral code on others who haven't yet found Christ?
