Applying Biblical Church Leadership Articles

As we studied the Scriptures and discovered a Biblical view of church leadership, we took a vital first step. Now let's go a little further and talk about how we apply that Biblical view to church leadership issues of today.

Leadership Undeveloped -- Is it possible for churches to develop their own leaders instead of sending them away for education and training? Why do send promising young leaders off to seminary or Bible college and then look for a stranger to come and lead our church?
Biblical Board Meetings -- What would happen if our church board or council meetings were guided by Biblical principles instead of the rules of order used in secular businesses and organizations?
Board of Prayer -- What would church board or council meetings be like if the Church Board were a Board of Prayer where a much of the meeting time was spent seeking God in prayer and discerning His will for His church?
Church Culture -- What kind of culture does your local church have? A culture that expects people to become followers of Christ and live for him? Or one that says attending once in a while is all that is needed?
Biblical Budgets -- Do church budgets reflect the values of the church? Are they Biblical values?
Why Go to Church? -- Why do people go to church? To get a lecture and watch the worship team? Or to connect with God and with other people? How then should we design our services and meetings?
Gifts of Men -- Christ has given gifts of men and women to each local church so that everyone can be built up. Is your local church using the gifts that God has given them? Are you being used by God to equip others?
